Both in their eighties, their lives have become increasingly centred around their old age, Peter having taken more of a carer’s role for Douglas. As Douglas approaches his eighty-third birthday, the couple reflect on their age and changing relationship.

The film follows two Afghan girls whose determination to pursue an education takes them from remote villages in central Afghanistan to one of Kabul’s leading universities. It is also the story of the families, teachers and organisations who helped make their journey possible, supporting them as they worked to realise their dreams.
